Osman Hafsham was nowhere in sight.

Dr Wan Zawawi was busy lecturing and not even within 200 ela of the voting panel. Hell, there was NO voting panel at all.

And me, I couldn't very well have bribed an entire nation, could I?

Praise Allah for our win at Era's audience choice awards evening. And don't you just lurrrve what my "anak emas" declared to the audience?

"THE VOTERS HAVE SPOKEN!"

Have I found my very own Audrey Hepburn?

Sharifah Amani (more commonly known as 'Orked' on my set and in my films), is often asked by journalists, "Benarkah awak ni anak emas Yasmin Ahmad?" ("Is there any truth in the rumour that you are Yasmin Ahmad's Golden Child?")

Orked's reply is invariably, "Yes, what of it?".

It's a shame they haven't asked me the same question. My reply would've been, "Well yes, but not only that, she's my very own Audrey Hepburn."

This is not to say that she's the most beautiful girl in the business. But it does mean that I reckon my director of photography, Keong, and I may have found a way to make her look like she IS the most beautiful girl in the business.

What do you think?

Here it finally is. A photo to give you a foretaste of the film.

God, it was fun. And moving. And rewarding. And such an adventure.

And sometimes, harrowing too.

There was one week where one particular local newspaper felt like crucifying me on a daily basis -- I spent 15 minutes crying my eyes out every morning before commencing the day's shoot.

One brilliant thing came out of it all, though. It made me turn to Allah for solace.

1&3

Wish us luck, my friends. Better still, pray for good things for our little film.

As soon as our producer Elyna called it a wrap at 5am that Friday morning, someone announced, "This is not a production team. This is a family."
